(FROM CBC NEWS) Nine Department of National Defence employees were involved in Ottawa’s fatal bus crash last Friday afternoon. It was confirmed Tuesday that four Canadian Armed Forces members and five civilians were mixed up in the collision at Westboro station. The three people who were killed in the crash were also public servants. Deputy minister Jody Thomas and Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Jonathan Vance sent out a statement of support to all DND employees Tuesday afternoon, advising them to take the time they need to deal with their emotions.

(FROM CTV NEWS) After sentencing Canadian Robert Schellenberg to death on Monday, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland says Canada has asked the Chinese government for clemency. A spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry, said that Canada’s hypocritical for placing a travel advisory but not warning it’s citizens against drug trafficking. Although the Chinese government says Schellenberg’s retrial was not politically motivated. Freeland said Tuesday that Canada has received support from other countries in response to this political dispute.

(FROM BBC NEWS) Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom voted today on the country’s Brexit deal. In a shock vote of 432- 202, the deal was rejected. British Prime Minister Theresa May, intentionally delayed today’s vote from originally taking place in December in hopes of gaining more support from her MP’s. Today’s outcome is the largest defeat for a sitting government in history. Britain will hold a vote of no confidence on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
