The Quebec government has killed 80 farmed deer and ordered the culling of 300 wild deer after chronic wasting disease was found in one of the creatures.
The animals were killed to prevent the spread the infectious disease, which is said to be similar to mad cow disease. While the disease does not, as of current study, affect humans, it spreads quickly and dangerously through deer populations and “is a qualified as one of the biggest threats to wildlife in North America.”

Researchers have tagged a third male great white shark off of the coast of Nova Scotia.
It is “very rare” for three males to be tagged in row, said Ocearch founder Chris Fischer. Ocearch has been searching the coasts of Nova Scotia for a potential great white mating site, and the expedition has found success so far. The search is being done to further research and inform protection efforts for sharks in Canada

North Korea has told the United Nations that there is growing mistrust with the United States due to continued sanctions by the Trump administration.
North Korean Foreign Affairs Minister Ri Yong has said that his country has taken “significant good will measures” such as stopping nuclear tests and dismantling nuclear test sites. According to Ri, the United States needs to reduce sanctions in order to continue these gestures of good-will.
