(FROM OTTAWA CITIZEN) Victims of the September tornadoes will receive $262,000 from the Centraide Outaouais group. The monies will be split between eight groups with the following initiatives:
- “to rebuild the social fabric” of the Mont Bleu neighbourhood;
- Translation services for people not fluent in French;
- Food aid;
- Helping victims return home or find a new one.

(FROM CTV) Two people, including a minor, were arrested on charges related to national security near Kingston, Ont. Investigators carried sealed bags out of a Kingston home Thursday. The RCMP are addressing this event in a press conference Friday.

(FROM CBC) Scotland’s ex First-Minister, Alex Salmond is facing attempted rape charges. Salmond still defends that he is “innocent of any criminality.” He is out on bail and has quickly joined the list of powerful men also being tried by the #MeToo movement.
