Adam Jansson, an Algonquin business management and entrepreneurship student, lifts weights five times a week and eats six times a day in order to maintain his strength while competing as a powerlifter. Jansson has been training for the past two years after switching from soccer due to an injury. He competed in Provincials last year as a sub-junior, ages 18 and under, where he placed first and recently again competed in provincials in the open category, ages 24-39, placing fourth. He competed in a higher category to gain experience in a more competitive group. With the results, he qualified for nationals. He hopes to compete in worlds in the coming year.
