After tornadoes left the majority of Nepean without power on Sept. 21 and 22, Algonquin was one of the only open places with power and hot food. Tim Horton’s and Starbucks were open for service to students and the public. This meant the lines for the restaurants were very long. As can be seen in this video, the line for Tim Horton’s line wrapped around through the original line space down the ramp to the gymnasium. The line took approximately an hour to order your food or drink. It was an indication of the unexpected side-effects of the loss of power as a result of the tornadoes.
