It’s been a few months and students and faculty are finally catching up with how Brightspace works.
There have been student ambassadors across the campus who have been offering help to students since the fall semester of 2018 and students have been very open with seeking help from the Brightspace ambassadors.
“We helped over 1,000 students at our stand in fall 2018,” said Keshana King, Brightspace ambassador program coordinator.
The most common issue for students King said has been how to log into the platform, while for faculty it’s been how to arrange assignments and group discussions.
The platform has a Brightspace course that helps students and faculty learn how to use the platform. Learning and teaching services also have a training program available to faculty members.
“I find Brightspace is easy to use but still has a few difficulties,” said Kaitlyn Green, part-time professor.
Professors’ knowledge of the platform affects their student’s overall experience with the platform according to the Brightspace team.
“Submitting assignments is easier for me on Brightspace,” said Adamo Pagani, library and information technology student.
The Brightspace team is encouraging students and faculty to take the Brightspace course because it has answers to most questions and shows you how to use the platform effectively.
“I hope students take the half an hour to complete the program,” said King.
Currently, students can find Brightspace help at IT client care Student Central, and faculty can find help at learning and teaching services C123
