Students can now find seven of the most essential college services in the brand-new Student Central.

The new student area is in the DARE District building down the stairs across from where the old registrar’s office was located. This service was opened to students and the public on Oct. 1.

The new space holds the Registar’s Office, Information Technology Services, International Education Centre, Test Centre, Pathways and Prior Learning Assessment and the Students’ Association Food Cupboard.

Although the area holds these essential services, it has also been known as a great place for students to study in a quiet place. The space offers 24-7 student gathering work areas.

Morgan O’Dell, a second-year developmental service worker-student hasn’t been to Student Central much but from what he has been able to see he’s very impressed by the space given to students.

“For me personally I like having space to go to do work. Just because at home I get distracted by everything at my place,” said O’Dell. “I think the more options you have for places to go and work or study the better and I think this is a pretty good place. There is lots of room and places to work.”

One of the other great things O’Dell has noticed about the space is all of the charging ports available to students.
