A 22-year-old Algonquin graduate is in Turkey this week to compete in the arm wrestling world championship as one of the country’s top female wrestlers in her weight division.

As a provincial champion, Alma Keuhl has been working for several years to perfect her skill, a skill that she inherited from her parents and her grandmother.

Keuhl practices twice a week with the Arnprior Pryers, a group that was created by her coach, Tim Bonell. With their help and the help of her friends and family, she feels ready to take on her competitors.

While she has faced considerable obstacles along the way, arm wrestling has remained a positive outlet and has allowed her to persevere.
