The results are in and the most popular drink on St. Patrick’s Day has been chosen with 136 votes. The options students could choose from included Guinness, green beer, Shamrock Juice, Irish Coffee and the Grasshopper.
Here’s a description of each of the drinks shown in the infographic above:
The Grasshopper is a sweet, mint-flavored drink usually served for after dinner. Irish coffee is a simple mix of coffee, brown sugar, Irish whiskey and a little whipped cream on the top.
Shamrock Juice combines all the favourites including gin, vodka, rum, tequila and blue curacao to create one simple drink to knock you on your butt.
Green beer, a common St. Patrick’s Day drink, can be made by using any draft beer and simply adding a few dabs of green food colouring.
Guinness, is currently the best-selling alcoholic drink in Ireland and has been a favourite in Dublin since 1759.
Under the “others” option, students also voted for simple Irish whiskey, Baileys Irish Cream, Jameson, Vodka and, of course, none of the above for those responsible students out there studying instead of partying.
